APOCALYPTICA Says TOOL Singer Came Close To Appearing On New Album
August 26, 2010According to The Pulse of Radio, APOCALYPTIC's new album, "7th Symphony", contains a credit for former EVANESCENCE songwriter and guitarist Ben Moody in the liner notes. Although no songs by Moody appear on the record, APOCALYPTICA member Eicca Toppinen revealed to The Pulse of Radio that he did work with Moody — and almost worked with a superstar guest vocalist. "I did some songwriting with him," Toppinen said. "We wrote two songs together and one of those songs was really in the picture for the last minute. We had a great singer for that, but suddenly the singer's schedule didn't allow him to appear on the record, and it was Maynard (James Keenan) from TOOL. We still have those songs in the pocket, we might release those at some point."
Guest vocalists on "7th Symphony" include SHINEDOWN frontman Brent Smith, FLYLEAF singer Lacey Mosley and BUSH frontman Gavin Rossdale, who appears on the album's first single and video, "End Of Me".
APOCALYPTICA played in New York City on Tuesday night (August 24) to celebrate the CD's arrival and was joined onstage for the song "I Don't Care" by THREE DAYS GRACE frontman Adam Gontier, who sang the track on the band's 2008 release, "Worlds Collide".
The Finnish rock cello quartet's headlining tour pulls into Boston on Thursday night (August 26).
